VLS – Virtual Lineside Signalling

Minimal trackside infrastructure trainborne equipment that communicates with a centralised safety control system, providing low cost signalling functionality with affordable operational enhancements. Primarily suited to, but not exclusively for, secondary and rural lines. Utilising COTS equipment, abolishing lineside signals reduces lineside infrastructure installation and maintenance requirements and their costs whilst increasing track availability.
