Colin graduated from Edinburgh University with an Honours degree in Computer Science. He has spent nearly 30 years in the industry working mainly on real-time systems, networking and security.  Colin is a well-respected Coder in the rail industry, and has worked for the world’s largest service providers to design networks for voice and data, including the first X.25/ATM/FR.


In previous years, he has led networking projects for SNCF, Bane Danmark, Deutsche Bahn the Rail Regulator in South Africa; air traffic controls system in UK, Romania and communications networks for Network Rail.  He sits on the UIC PETER group for Network Rail, which aims to harmonise communications for railways across Europe. Colin is now using his experience and knowledge to develop the next generation of DigitalRailway in the role of Principle Architect.
